Tangerang, 28 October 2019

On Thursday, 23rd of October 2019, Hospitality and Tourism Management Department organizes a wonderful public lecture titled “Building and Managing your Personal Branding”. Our special host came from Australia, his name is Mr. Tim Rudling, who is such a generous and open-minded person. This public lecture starts from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. So let’s take a look at what has happened within these 2 amazing hours of lecture with Mr. Tim Rudling.

Building and Managing your Personal Branding is actually a very interesting topic to be talked about and observed. It really inspires us to look pass through the boundaries, knowing who we really are as a person and what can we offer to the world. There are a few steps in knowing what our personal branding is, such as observe what are our strengths and weaknesses, having a specific goal, forget the ladder, and be your own kind of person. Speaking of which, Mr. Rudling invited us to look deeper within ourselves by understanding our strengths and weaknesses. Mr. Rudling even asked a few of the audiences to join him on stage by sharing their strengths, weaknesses, and unique value that they can share as their personal branding.

Some of them share the fact that they were shy, a little pessimistic, not knowing how to start a conversation first, but they were all willing to try new things in order to be a success. Mr. Rudling also give some compliments and thoughts about what they should do to overcome their weaknesses and give them special presents such as a pencil case and a notebook from Australia. Some of the audience does admit that he is a very kind person and he is really open in sharing his experiences in life. He is indeed very friendly in terms of doing his job and sharing a lot of new things with other people.

At the end of this public lecture, every audience gets a goodie bag filled with snacks, a magazine, a very cute paper fan, and a few brochures. Everyone seems to enjoy this public lecture because it has a very interesting and useful topic for our future. It’s been a wonderful public lecture to be experienced. (by Karyn Novinka, HTM 2019)
